Following  completion of the removal works, the basement areas were thoroughly cleaned and prepared, allowing refurbishment works to proceed in line with the hotel’s future operational requirements. This project highlights KpH Environmental’s capability to deliver complex heavy plant removal projects within sensitive, high-value environments while maintaining the highest standards of safety, planning and execution.

Key Challenges Live, high-security judicial environment with restricted access Confined boiler room and plant spaces limiting working and removal methods Hot works requiring full isolation of fire, sprinkler and electrical systems Presence of asbestos rope gaskets requiring careful avoidance, controlled removal and compliant disposal Out-of-hours working to minimise operational disruption Outcome: The works were completed safely and efficiently, with all boiler flue ductwork and associated mechanical materials removed in full compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements. The project was delivered without disruption to court operations, demonstrating KpH Environmental’s ability to carry out high-risk, controlled mechanical strip-out works within live, security-critical and historic buildings.

All redundant mechanical equipment was removed, leaving a clear and compliant plant room ready for future refurbishment and installation works.
